Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has received bids from two companies — Heavy Engineering Industries and Shipbuilding Company (Heisco) and Shanghai Electric Group — for the upgrade of the Al Subiya Power Generation and Water Distillation Station.
The project scope includes the upgrade of eight steam boilers at the strategic facility to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and overall performance of one of Kuwait’s key power generation and desalination plants.
According to the tender results, Heisco submitted a bid of KD200 million ($651 million), while Shanghai Electric Group emerged as the lowest bidder with a proposal valued at KD125.2 million ($408 million).
The Al Subiya plant plays a critical role in meeting Kuwait’s increasing electricity and potable water demand. The upgrade project forms part of the government’s broader strategy to modernize existing infrastructure and strengthen sustainable power and water supply systems in the country.
If you want, I can also make a very short 4–5 line version (like a MEED / Zawya style project brief) or a 2-line tender result update.
