Saudi Electricity Company (formerly Saudi Electricity Company), now operating as Saudi Energy, has invited bids from leading utility developers and energy project specialists for the construction of 380kV substations and associated overhead transmission lines (OHTL) to support upcoming renewable energy projects across Saudi Arabia.
The projects includes:
- 380/33kV Ashayrah Wind BSP – Western Region
- Mozeraah Wind 380/33kV BSP, including expansion of HHR-5 BSP and its OHTL – Western Region
- Mastura PV BSP (380/33kV) and its interconnections under the Renewable Energy Power Plant – Western Region
- New East Al-Amoah Wind 380/33kV BSP and its OHTL – Southern Region
- New North Asir Wind 380/33kV BSP and its OHTL – Southern Region
- New 380kV Tumair PV BSP (No. 9127) and its OHTL – Central Region
- New 380kV Al-Majmaah PV BSP (No. 9174) with expansion at existing Sudair BSP (No. 9011) and its OHTL – Central Region
- New 380kV Double Circuit OHTL from proposed Starah PV BSP (No. 9176) – Central Region
In 2025, Saudi Energy awarded contracts valued at approximately $15 billion for the development of substations, as well as underground and overhead transmission line projects, reinforcing the Kingdom’s power infrastructure expansion.
