The Transportation Infrastructure business vertical of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major contract for the upgrade of Latifa Bint Hamdan Street in Dubai, UAE.
The award pertains to Phase 1 of a broader road development program being implemented by the UAE authorities to strengthen the emirate’s transport infrastructure.
Valued between $110 million and $275 million, the contract involves upgrading the existing corridor from Emirates Road to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. The scope includes widening the current two-lane dual carriageway into a four-lane dual carriageway in each direction to increase network capacity and improve traffic flow.
A key component of the project is the construction of a major structural interchange at E311 to enable seamless traffic movement in all directions.
In addition, the corridor will be extended with a new four-lane dual carriageway along Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. The works also include a dedicated interchange to facilitate U-turn movements and enhance access to developments on both sides of the corridor.
The project is scheduled for completion within 36 months.
